My current position as an Instrumentation Engineering Manager at [Alghanim International EPC at Kuwait] has given me a firm foundation in the design, installation and maintenance of complex instrumentation
and control systems. I have extensive experience in programming, troubleshooting and working with a variety of control systems. I am well- versed in PLCs, DCSs, HM ls and SCADA systems, and I have an Indepth
understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
Demonstrated understanding of Instrumentation and Controls design
▪ In depth understanding of P&IDs, Instrumentation and Automated System hardware and demonstrated ability to develop technical controls, specifications, and strategies.
▪ Prepare Instrumentation and Controls deliverables for different design phases based on P&ID’s. Instrumentation specifications, user requirements for computerized control systems, standards, codes, and customer input.
▪ Manage large I&C discipline, organize a leadership structure including Section Managers and supervise, provide guidance, and mentor engineers and designers.
▪ Coordinate and interact effectively with project managers, vendors, and engineers across multiple disciplines such as Process, Mechanical and Piping Engineering.
• Supporting O&M team for the warranty clam issues
• Support the Operation and Maintenance team in troubleshooting.
• Tracking the technical warranty related issues with O&M team.
• Creating the Root cause analysis (RCA) for the failures, trips and abnormal operation conditions.
• Prepare and coordinate with concerned people for the weekly warranty claim meeting.
• Checking the warranty claims and analyzing the issues based on OEM manual, vendor recommendations and other consulting reports.
• Create a database for the raised warranty claims by O&M team for fast tracking and monitoring the status of each point with including the technical documentation and the resolved outcomes.
• Coordinate with different suppliers and monitor the resolved warranty claims in time.
• Coordinate with vendors for the corrective proposals and action plans in case vendor support is mandatory required.
Provide technical leadership and management of commissioning procedures, activities, and standards for power plant projects, including coordinating with engineering disciplines, consultants, construction teams, contractors and various stakeholders to facilitate the commissioning and start-up of complex projects.
• Review the Plant schemes and logics to ensure that the implemented logic is in line with the plant design documents and systems description.
• Review and test the automatic plant start up (APS) logic and demonstrate the same to the client.
• Test the communication between the PLC systems and DCS (Modbus and hardwired signals) and demonstrate the same to client.
• Test and demonstrate the redundancy of the DC & UPS systems to the client.
• Test all protection signals (Temperature, pressure vibration acceleration …) related to GTs, HRSGs diverter damper and STG and demonstrate the same to the client.
• Test and calibrate the MOVs and control valves and clear the valves issues (Passing, Hunting, MOV torque fault) and adjusting the valves fail safe operation (FO, FC).
• Test the SCADA system for GIS (400KV), establish communication with DCS and demonstrate the remote operation for the same with the client.
•
Execute the commissioning activities for Steam and Water Analysis System.
•
Execute the commissioning activities for water emission system and connect the same to EPA for remote monitoring.
•
Test and demonstrate the Continuous Emission Monitoring System for GTs to the client.
•
Calibrate the pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters by using hart communicator, test the transmitters output signal to DCS and confirm the configured ranges in DCS are matched with field.
•
Carrying out a detailed assessment of commissioning work and assessing the available resources and constraints in project execution.
•
Interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical and conveyance systems, treatment processes, detailed mechanical and electrical drawings, fiber optic diagrams, control panel drawings, technical specifications, and control strategies to develop commissioning procedures.
• Review/issue daily Maintenance schedules and verify that the work orders received in CMMS (MAXIMO v7.5) from different areas
• Create the required job plans (Repairing steps, Spare parts & Manpower) for executing work orders.
• Follow up executing preventive and corrective maintenance and provide the required technical support for DCS and PLCs and SCADA systems.
• Supporting maintenance team to execute Emergency Shutdown and turnaround activities (preparing required spare parts, providing technical solutions & studding required modification for reliability enhancement.)
• Perform site surveys and identification of specialized services required to execute works.
• Co-ordination among different sections (maintenance –operation).
• Determines resources requirements (manpower, tools, equipment, rigging, scaffolding).
