SELECTED ENGINEERING PROJECTS

  • DriveHarmony — Driver Drowsiness Detection and Safety System | Senior Capstone Project, March 2021 – January 2022, Contributed to a project designed to address driving risks associated with drowsiness and inattention., The project used a Raspberry Pi and an infrared camera to support driver-face and eye monitoring, including in low-light conditions and when sunglasses are worn., The project description identifies Haar Cascade-based object detection for face landmarks and describes warning and communication features, including contacting appropriate authorities if the driver does not respond., An FMCW radar was explored for blind-spot and beyond-line-of-sight awareness but was not fully implemented.
  • Smart Blind Gloves — Assistive Technology Prototype | Measurements and Instrumentation Project, November 2020 – January 2021, Worked on a prototype concept intended to help visually impaired users estimate proximity to nearby objects and identify object colors., The described system used an Arduino, RGB color sensor, and ultrasonic sensor, with output components including a vibration motor, speaker, buzzer, and microSD card module.
