• Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervise all aspects of zoological operations and facility management, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant daily functions.
• Coordinate staff schedules, duty rosters, training programs, and welfare initiatives to maintain a high-performing, well-supported team.
• Manage the animal collection, including husbandry, breeding programs, safety protocols, and welfare standards using (ZIMS) and other data management platforms.
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians, coordinating and assisting in all medical procedures and animal health interventions.
• Provide species-appropriate enrichment by regularly enhancing enclosures and exhibits to stimulate natural behaviors and improve animal welfare.
• Oversee commissary operations, including diet planning, nutrition management, and food preparation to meet species-specific needs.
• Capture and document all zoological and operational data, producing accurate and timely reports for internal use and audits.
• Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, safety, and compliance across departments.
• Enforce health, safety, and biosecurity protocols across the facility to protect animals, staff, and visitors.
• Liaise with internal departments such as HR, Maintenance, Stores, Pest Control, Agronomy, Security, and Housekeeping to ensure effective interdisciplinary coordination.
• Manage procurement of tools, materials, and resources while maintaining operational inventory through Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Procufy.
• Provide regular briefings to senior management through detailed daily reports and operational meetings.
• Host and lead VVIP tours for high-profile guests, delivering exceptional visitor experiences and promoting the facility’s mission and values.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support organizational objectives and operational excellence
