A dedicated Accounting graduate and a proud Deaf Kuwaiti woman, seeking to pursue a Master’s degree in Accounting. I bring an inclusive perspective shaped by resilience, precision, and strong attention to detail, with a clear passion for ethical finance, accessibility, and continuous professional development.
Dear Admissions Committee
My name is Hawraa S. Alanezi, and I am a Bachelor’s graduate in Accounting from Morgan State University in the United States. I am a proud Deaf Kuwaiti woman, and my academic and personal experiences have strongly shaped my ambition to pursue a Master’s degree in Accounting, not only to advance my professional expertise but also to contribute to building more inclusive and equitable systems.
During my studies in the United States, I became familiar with the history of Deaf rights and the importance of legal frameworks that protect access to education for Deaf individuals. The availability of academic accommodations and sign language interpreters, supported by clear legislation, played a significant role in enabling Deaf students to succeed academically and professionally.
Alongside my academic interest in accounting, financial reporting, auditing, and ethical business practices, I have developed a strong awareness of the importance of linking professional knowledge with social responsibility. In the future, I aspire to adapt these successful models to Kuwait, by supporting the Deaf community and advocating for the provision of qualified sign language interpreters within educational and professional institutions.
My motivation to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom is driven by its strong commitment to disability rights, inclusive education, and legal protections for students with disabilities. I believe that studying in the UK will provide me with a globally respected academic foundation and exposure to best practices in accessibility.
My academic background in accounting, combined with my lived experience as a Deaf individual, has strengthened my attention to detail, resilience, and problem-solving abilities—qualities essential for success in postgraduate accounting programs. I am highly motivated to grow academically, contribute positively to the university community, and represent the value of diversity in higher education.
Yours sincerely
Hawraa S. Alanezi
