I Trained Muay Thai with a Master for over a Year, i was obese sad and defenseless, i turned into a semi-professional fighter, great physique and health, great dieting and pure dedication to the cause and the team. i was tested from day one if i was capable of even baring the hits and the grind and i made sure i was here to stay no matter how big the bruises were at that time.
Arsenal Fan since 1999, Got pictures to prove it (when they were sponsored by JVC!) love watching and analyzing athletes and football. Arshavin of course was a beautiful player who loved his country and played so well for arsenal and russia, but their failure to qualify for the world cup destroyed him mentally and he never really recovered. he's one of the few cases im interested in understanding along with Paul Gascoinge who missed a crucial penalty for england and never recovered and turned into an unrecognizable alcoholic.
I read into some literature of the greatest psychology thinkers such as Soren Kierkegaard, Friedrich Nietzsche and the stoics such as Marcus Aurelius and Epictetus amongst others.
I Believe in some of the teachings of Sufism but i don't practice it or islam. Teachings such as letting go of the ego and being a conscious being dedicated to loving god.
God is love and not an angry entity in the sky waiting to be worshipped in only one certain wait. I worship him my way through what i do and according to my moral codes, volunteering, helping the poor and those in need. this is gods worship for me personally.
Im always reminded of the story of Moses and the Shepherd by the great Poet Rumi. telling the story of prophet Moses being angry at the shepherd who was talking to god that he'd be honored to have him as a guest in his house, clean his feet, brush his hair, prepare his bed, love him, feed him from what god gave him etc. Moses PBUH thought it was blasphemous and made it clear to the shepherd that was blasphemy. the shepherd ran up to the mountains feeling shame afterwards god spoke to Moses PBUH that what he did was wrong and he went to the shepherd to apologize.
Moral of the story is, i believe god is love and our actions in life in helping others are an act of worship to him.
George Orwell is like a time machine, his novel 1984 is a master piece that we now see happening before our very own eyes how everyone is listened to, affiliated to, likes and dislikes etc along with the beautifully written and funny Animal farm.
I enjoy Ernest Hemingway as well as non-fiction authors such as Robert Greene, Robert Cialdini.Autobiographies of my idols including and not limited to Fidel Castro, Arsene Wenger (even though his book was sadly a total failure), Per Mertesacker the footballer nicknamed "big friendly giant" and the comedian that i will always admire, Craig Ferguson. Last but not least, My Dad and how he inspired thousands with his books and interviews and being invited to Qatar by an Amir to help him with his diet. my dad is my idol and his story alone gives me goosebumps how he made it out of extreme poverty before oil was even discovered. like him, i. want to be self-made, not live under his shadow any more.
